Maruti Suzuki India Limited has revealed the prices of the new IGNIS, unveiled at the Auto Expo 2020. Ignis is a great car with actual tested mileage of over 16-22 kmpl (petrol), comfortable, smooth, featureful (my word) and of course the car is quite fast even on up hill.

The car has an SUV persona with high ground clearance. Maruti has added striking rear spoiler and roof rails. The new IGNIS is powered by a fiesty 1.2 litre BS6 petrol engine with manual and Auto Gear Shift (AGS) transmission.

Mr. Kenichi Ayukawa, MD & CEO, Maruti Suzuki India Limited
“IGNIS enjoys a special place in the Maruti Suzuki NEXA portfolio and has been appreciated for its peppy drivability and spacious interiors. We have recognised an increasing preference for feature loaded cars that have SUV-like high seating position and dominant road presence. We are confident that the all new IGNIS with its SUV design and spacious interiors will appeal to the customers.”

The new IGNIS will come in two new sporty colour options – Lucent Orange and Turquoise Blue, and three New Dual Color options which goes it a sporty and SUV look. The IGNIS will be offered with two premium customization options – cropolis and Scorcher.

The IGNIS, when it was launched caught everyone’s attention mainly due to its design which had not been seen in the Indian market. The range of variants that it comes in makes it affordable to almost all segments of consumers. And the engine that runs this will not dissapoint on both city and highway. Maruti’s attention on fuel efficiency has always been quite evident and the car can easily give up to 21 Kmpl on highway and if driven with care, up to 18 even in city traffic. Even though there has been some dissagreement between Global NCAP and Maruti regarding passenger safety, Maruti does meet the stringent safety norms of the Indian government.

The IGNIS is a perfect city car with it’s smooth automatic shift, good mileage, easy handling, peppy engine and the size of the car. Even though the changes in the new Ignis may not be revolutionary but they are not subtle either. Why change something which is already so good but the new ignis looks even better than before.
